Look for the picnic table on the backyard deck in the first two pictures. The first picture above shows the comparison between December 31 and January 8, and what looks like light and fluffy snow is heavy frozen ice. We thought we had a lot of snow in December but there was more to come. |

On West Fourth Street, Highway 40 before the interstate was built, the Silver State Lodge offered overnight accommodations to travelers. The main lodge and small cabins were built in 1927. The property was open when these pictures were taken but it was demolished in late 2003. |

The first two pictures show Lake Street and the Mizpah Hotel built in 1922 by the Pincolini brothers. A fire on October 31, 2006, destroyed the hotel and killed 12 people. The third picture is the Senator Hotel building at Second and West and the last picture is a view of the Gospel Mission and the Silver Legacy looking north from West Street near Third. |
