This 21-story building on the west side of Sierra Street between Second and Commercial Row opened in 1978 as Del Webb's Sahara Reno. In 1981 it became the Hilton and in 1991 it was re-branded the Flamingo Hilton to set it apart from the Reno Hilton that moved in across town. From 2001 to 2005 the building became the Golden Phoenix and now a development company has gutted the structure to build The Montage condominiums. The developers added two floors to the top of the building. Early pictures of the Flamingo Hilton, Golden Phoenix and Comstock can be seen on the Reno Arch 2 page.
