| The 1,072-bed Southern Nevada Detention Center will house federal inmates and detainees for the United States Marshals Service and will have more than 230 employees with an annual payroll of $15 million. The $80 million facility, on 70 acres north of Pahrump on Mesquite Road, is expected to open in October, 2010, and will make Corrections Corporation of America one of the largest employers in Nye County. The last three pictures above show the distant intersection of Mesquite Road and Highway 160 seen from both directions from the top of the hill by the detention center and looking back from the bottom of the hill. |
